Kensington’s The Facility was recently host to an epic urban art festival, Can’t Do Tomorrow.

The festival ran from Feb 20th to Feb 29th 2020 and I was stoked to have been asked to paint some of the panels displayed up in the space.

Here’s the blank panel and the first few layers down. The scissor lift was a first for me…wobblier at the top than I expected but fun. And it was 40 DEGREES that day in the warehouse…check my clip-on fan. So organised.

A wtf-it’s-so-hot-in-here moment captured by Nella.

I think I took this pic at the end of the first day of painting. Most of the colour down, ready for all the shading and outlines.

Couple of close ups Nella took up in the lift with me.

I didn’t get a good pic at the end of the second painting day as it was getting dark in the warehouse but here’s a pic I took on the opening night.

In context with the opening night peoples. This was just a small section of the warehouse and only one of the levels!

I did grab these angled shots that show you the stencils I used and some of the detail.

The artist list. So many!

There’s a bunch more pics on the CDT instagram from the opening night, market, artist talks and events and closing party. Looking forward to next year’s festival…thanks to the CDT crew and Just Another Agency for the opportunity!
